The office of Bangsamoro Member of Parliament Diamila Disimban-Ramos successfully held the Strings of Aspirations in line with the celebration of the 5th Bangsamoro Founding Anniversary on January 21–27, 2024. This is a feeding program and gift-giving activity for Bangsamoro children.

According to Parliament Member Ramos, this is part of solidarity with the Bangsamoro government's desire that 'no Bangsamoro child will be left behind.'
In a Facebook post, Strings of Aspirations was held in five places: Poblacion 7, Cotabato City; Cadayonan II, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur; Lamitan City, Basilan Province; Batulawan in Pikit, Special Geographic Area, and Culiat, Tandang Sora, and Quezon City.

“To our children, remember that you are the future gem of our thriving Bangsamoro; the sacrifices of the Bangsamoro Government are the first step to your tomorrow’s success. Sino ba ang mga susunod na henerasyon? Kundi, ito ang mga Kabataang Bangsamoro na nasa ating harapan ngayon. (Who are the next generations? But these are the Bangsamoro youth who are in front of us today),” MP Ramos' message of support and guidance to the youth.

“This feeding program is not just about filling stomachs; it is about feeding dreams, nurturing potential, and sowing the seeds of a brighter future,” she added.

Joining the activities laid out during the Bangsamoro Founding Anniversary is a manifestation of recognizing the success and triumph of the peace process after decades of struggle for self-determination.

On January 21, 2019, or 1,826 days ago, the Bangsamoro Organic Law was formally ratified, highlighting the breakthroughs of the regional government in achieving peace and development and reforming the Bangsamoro.

The Bangsamoro lawmaker also thanked their
partners during the activity, including the barangays, youth and children’s
organizations, and groups from the educational sector and NGOs–serving more
than a hundred Bangsamoro youths in each activity location.

Meanwhile, in a radio interview, MP Ramos' Public Information and Media Affairs, Division Chief Julius Disamburun said that one of their goals for holding the Strings of Aspiration program is to recognize the dreams and support for the welfare of the Bangsamoro Youth, who are considered one of the hopes of our people.

“Bakit mga bata, dahil sila ang kasalukuyan at kinabukasan ng ating bayan. So, sila ang magiging katuwang natin para ipagpatuloy ang mithiing pangmatagalang kapayapaan ng ating rehiyon at ng ating bansa—kaya ngayon palang umaagapay at sumusuporta na tayo sa kanila,” Disamburun said.
(Why children? Because they are the present and future of the nation. So, they will be our partners to continue the long-term peace of our region and our country—that is why we are now accompanying and supporting them.)

Chief Disamburun also mentioned that, being the Chairperson of the Committee on Women, Youth, Children, and Persons with Disabilities and a member of the Bangsamoro Parliament, MP Ramos will continue to promote legislative measures that "will respond to the problems or needs of the sectors of youth, women, PWDs, and cooperatives, especially providing opportunities, achieving gender equality, and inclusivity, while properly considering the welfare of its citizens, especially future generations.”

This year, the region commemorated this milestone under the theme “A Journey Towards Mutual Understanding, Peaceful Co-existence, and a Shared Future in the Bangsamoro” and marks a new chapter towards achieving the ever-elusive peace in the region. (ANP/PIAGNS)
